Abhishek's having a horror tournament, but he's the world's number 1-ranked T20 batter. :) He's been absolutely insane over the last couple of years. Deserves the long rope.
And we do. But dropping Abhishek would be a terrible move.
*Sharma, sorry. I know. But given the inconsistency of our entire team, it might be...well, just thinking as I speak. Sanju Samson? Nah! So I guess this is the team. We gave about 40 runs away in the middle. Dube, Hardik and Varun were expensive. And honestly I may be trolled, but Sky isn't a great captain, my opinion. Chalo, if we can get to the SF, we can celebrate noisily. Then we lose we can celebrate the defeaning silence. It's frightening the expectations we have of our poor cricketers.
Ahahaha no no, the expectations are fair, and that's because this is a truly gun team. They just haven't had a very good World Cup, and games at this stage come with a lot of jeopardy.
Keeping my fingers crossed but won't be surprised if India get knocked out in this round. The Net Run Rate has taken a massive dent.
Yup. We do have a young gun Murugan team lol. But, I think we need maturity and not bluster. God, I miss Virat and Rohit. Or Mister Cool. Somehow I feel this team has the talent, the bluster, the bravado, but sometimes we need tehrav. YKWIM.
Thank you once again for a visceral recount of some of the matches. That Afghanistan - SA match?!!! God! It was like Speed (the movie) on steroids. Great fun. And while you extol the crowds and the chorus, I honestly feel and felt that our cricket audience is so partisan that any opposition batter or bowler does well, those two clapping hands just decide to lie limp. It's the jingoistic fervour where our cricket audience is basically transmuting our battles on the pitch as some other battles on a world stage that kind of gets my goat. Sports is sbout a victor and loser sure. But it's also more than that. Our cricket "fans" have forgotten to applaud a six, a catch or s fantastic ball batted, fielded or bowled by someone else. Especially if the pitch has 11 players in blue jerseys with an India emblazonef somewherebamong the sponsors' logos. But yeah, there have been some super games, Aus is out (???) and Italy and Scotland or Ned were a revelation.
Love how visual the opening is, and the pivot in the middle is so smooth.
10 mins reading this is almost the same amount of time I've spent watching (yet another? Already?) World Cup.
Thanks man! And hahah moar World Cups. Glad this one's been so good.
Exactly my point. Love the coined term Modium. Please tell me why is Abhishek Varma still being continued with? Don't we have a strong bench?

Thank you for reading, Renuka. And the Modium sounded like a library tonight, when the team tanked.
