Finally fell for the hype and watched parts of the final. The post-match celebrations without any acknowledgment of the existence of an opposing team was…..not sure I have a word for that disgust!

Just read the stuff about the presentation ceremony - had slept by then. My god. I am so glad this farce is behind us now.

Nuclear waste of jingoism 🤣. Truer words were never spoken when it comes to subcontinental cricket rivalry. So much crasness online and by chicken hawks on TV.

Kya likhta hai yaar apna Banda. So lucky, these TOI guys are. As an aside though, I feel all this drama has been played up by both sides with a quiet nod to each other. The competition had become too nice and players seemed to be getting along just fine and then some. That was unacceptable to the powers that be on both sides, struggling to get the mass acceptance of their relevance. I came to know about asia cup thanks to your post about the second match and I will most likely avoid the Sunday chutiyapa.

Whatever happens, one thing cannot change - Our neighbors have a better coke studio than us, and their music sensibilities in the last 20 odd years dwarf this side of ' Just add Arijit and some hot water' recipes.

Love your writing, but then that is quite a dull thing to say now, isn't it?

The post match no trophy celebration was a total ‘the emperor has no clothes moment’. It looked extremely ridiculous and someone like Rohit would have had the sense to not do something like that. We became a laughing stock.
