“But, at Test cricket's razor edge, it’s not about the visible decline - it’s about those invisible milliseconds lost in reading length, those few missing revolutions on the off-break” - These lines were so poetic. It's the sad truth no? Like tennis not feeling like tennis without Serena, Federer and Rafa. But that's how it is and will always be in sport - greats will leave a vacuum, but then there's always someone who comes in through the system. See Yashasvi Jaiswal for instance. Each new entrant to a sport bears the burden of the legends which he must unshackle to carve his own story as he chases glory. C'est la vie. Heartbreak hotel time... beautiful read as always.

Haha indeed. The piece wasn't so much about greats declining but a team in decline and unable to plug the gaps. Greats will come and go, and any sport moves forward. This is a team in trouble haha.

A team peopled by greats in decline. 🙂. And yes, the team looks slightly forlorn.
