"They just want to do their thing, to send balls arcing through thin air, to feel that moment when muscle memory and instinct merge to turn their limbs into wands." Beautiful.

Love the piece, love the ending.

The farm to table route for professional sports turns murky at many a stop. Playing for one's country was and is a pure vocation but club sport, and the accompanying spin doctors and dubious owners, is darker. We're still getting used to it as fans.

Great transition and terrific ending. It is so refreshing when teams like Nottingham Forest do well and you (the neutral fan) can enjoy their success without that feeling of distate that petro-dollars have made so common in sport.

Thank you! And totally, been loving Nottingham Forest, and even what Everton have been doing under Moyes. Great fun.

Even if India had flown out of Dubai and back for every match, it wouldn't have taken away the advantage of playing all their matches on a single ground. India being a good team and India having unfair advantage are two different things, both of which can be true independently.
