What a remarkable piece Sarthak. I haven’t heard or seen your performance but I must say your writing on music is my favorite writing on music. Not ‘one of my favorites’, but ^favorite^.

Death has a way of pulling us out of our normal day to day to remind how little is in our control. I am blessed to have spent some of that ‘normal day to day’ listening to KK.

Thank you so much, man.

What an incredible loss. I still can't quite believe it. That voice was magic.

You know sarthak, I can imagine how deeply this has affected you. I can imagine because long long ago, I suffered something similar. Hold on to the songs, they are all that is left now. And the silence. Hugs.

:) Hugs.

It has. But KK's music will be part of popular Hindi playlists for a long while to come. The generation that was last touched by his music is still rather young. And we can take some comfort in that. :)

Indeed. Can't believe it. Haven't been able to shake it off since last night.

Yaaron and Pal were and remain the favourite farewell theme songs. I dont think it is an exaggeration to say that thousands, maybe millions, of students have cried to these songs when graduating out of school or college in India. What a gem we lost, and far too soon. 💔

Yeap. Yaaron is still the default choice for such an intimate emotion, twenty years after it released. What a legacy to leave.

Thank you for writing this! I knew you would and was waiting for you to express a part of what I feel but cannot seem to express in words.

💔 Can't believe it still. We heard him so much, and so often.

Lovely tribute! It took me down a trip down my Indi-Pop memory lane as well :) Yaaron was an important song for me and my friends also :)

Thanks, Pritam. Was the sound of our generation :)
